Talking in Parenthesis
Ramblings and angst from a mostly stay at home mom
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. -Nelson Mandela

Three Things Thursday
Favorite animals at the zoo.
1. Brit, the oldest. Despite the cool teenage facade he enjoyed himself. His favorite animals were the polar bears. When asked why he reply was, duh. Ah teenagers.
2. Clay, the next oldest. He wants to be Jeff Corwin when he grows up, so all of the reptiles were his favorite, especially the King Cobra.
3. Franklin,my observer, he took a notebook with him to write his observations and thoughts. He loves all birds, his favorites were the Golden Conures. Very beautiful and very rare.
4. Nate, my youngest son and speed demon. He is in love with cheetahs. Their sleek lines, speed and of course cool spots.
5. Alli, my kindergartener. She also loved the polar bears. She explained, it was because they were swimming, playing and having fun. They looked like me in the pool, she said.
6. Emma, the baby, her very favorites are giraffes. Tiny baby giraffes and big mommy giraffes. Ron asked her why she likes them and she simply said, Daddy, they are big. Jeez...
It was a great day, good weather, good company and a good time had by all.
