Talking in Parenthesis

Ramblings and angst from a mostly stay at home mom

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. -Nelson Mandela

Three Things Thursday and some other stuff

I was going back and rereading some of my old entries and this blog has changed. I don't know if it is for good or bad. I don't think it is either I just think it is a natural evolution. I am not as angst filled, or maybe i just don't have the time anymore. In the last 2 years I have gone from a completely stay at home mom to a mostly stay at home mom with a job on the weekends for a couple of hours to a working mom with a real title who loves her job as well as home. And I think working at this point in the kids lives, everybody at school, makes me a better mom, makes me a better me.

Okay now for a totally unrelated TTT. I love the fall, it is my favorite time of year. That being said there are a few things that I really hate.

1. LEAF BLOWERS!!!! I really hate leaf blowers. They are loud, smelly and pointless. Get a rake already.

2. Wind. Here in Denver we get a lot of wind. I don't like the wind, it gives me terrible earaches.

3. Christmas decorations. Holy Cow could we please wait until Halloween until put out the Christmas stuff. Ugh.

Three Things Thursday

I am finally giving in to the cold that has been following me for the last week. So these are the 3 things I must have when sick.

1. Herbal Teas. Preferably a lot of different kinds. Right now I have Apple Cinnamon.

2. My fluffy socks. You know those lounge socks. I love those.

3. Soup. Depending on how I feel, (you know if there is tummy involvement) either tomato or one of the chunky soups.

So with that I am off to do the one other thing I do when sick. READ!

Quick Question

Has anybody else been reading Funky Winkerbean? I fell in love with it in high school. Being in marching band, the band camp story spoke to me. Anyways, the storyline with Lisa's cancer and death, wow.

Three Things Thursday

I am late, I know. My brother in law is getting married tomorrow and my time is filled up with that. Ron and the oldest boys are in the wedding so tux fittings. Alli is a flowergirl, so all of the that. And the rest all have to look presentable, lol.
I think I will just add some random fact for my three things this week.

1. I For lunch today i am having my favorite sandwich. My grandfather introduced it to me. Warning it is weird, very weird. It is peanut butter (creamy only) and tomatoes. Holy cow is it good. It also MUST be served with plain ol regular potato chips.

2. Life is my new favorite fall show. I am worried, he will have to solve his case but where will it go after that?

3. I love the weather this time of year because I can wear my favorite clothing combination, shorts and a sweatshirt.
