Talking in Parenthesis

Ramblings and angst from a mostly stay at home mom

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. -Nelson Mandela

Three Things Thursday

I am exhausted today, I worked 22 hours the last 2 days plus one back to school night and neighbors fighting loudly until 2am. So TTT will be probably strange and disjointed because I myself am strange and disjointed today. (okay most days)

1. I noticed something walking to work the other morning, I never, ever step on cracks in the sidewalk. I will go out of my way to avoid them. I guess it is left over from "step on a crack break your mom's back" My kids on the other hand go out of the way to step on the cracks. I suppose if I was less tired I might read something into that.

2. My current playlist on my mp3 player is really varied. It goes from Johnny Cash to Sting to New Order to Aqua to Juanes to some strange French rap I like and everywhere in between. My Napster playlists are even stranger.

3. I think this year I am going to make my Christmas cards. I found the greatest snowflake stamps and some silver ink. Hmmm navy blue card stock....
