Talking in Parenthesis

Ramblings and angst from a mostly stay at home mom

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. -Nelson Mandela

Three Things Thursday

Wow been a long time since I have done one of these things. Hmmm what topic should I do? Hey how about what I have been up to while I wasn't blogging?

1. I have started a small company called Conure Creations. I make cards, magnets, ornaments and earring that are either out of feathers or bird themed that I sell at the store I manage.

2. In the 25 free minutes a week I have I have added a new hobby. Paper quilling. Old fashioned but I love it.

3. I have always had trouble doing things for myself, it has gotten even worse since I have had kids. But in this last year I have started going out to dinner after work 2 month with some friends. I forgot how much I missed girl time.

Sigh

I know that this passing will go unrecognized by most of the world, it won't by me. Alex the African Grey owned by Dr Pepperburg died suddenly today. His work with her was amazing. She proved what those of us who have birds have known for years, that they truely understand what they are saying.

Wow it has been a looooong time since I last posted. All I can say is life has got in the way. I have gotten hugely busy at work. I have lots more responsibilities and I am loving it. I have been doing tons of research on avian nutrition and writ ting articles for work. Busy but wonderful. All the kids are back in school, including the youngest. So they are all in school. Wow. The oldest is starting to plan college, ack. Am I old enough for this? So now that I have a routine back I will updating more often.
